Exciting things are happening at Righteous Kombis! We have wanted to do an electric conversion on a Beetle or a Kombi for some time. We have now been given the opportunity to work with Australian EVS to build their first electric vehicle.
This is definitely a lot more challenging than expected. The kit we are working with has come from Electric GT in the US. We have all the components but there is a lot of modification and fabrication required to fit and mount the batteries, controllers, cooling system for the batteries, control panel, accelerator pedal and the list goes on.
If you are looking to convert your Kombi or Beetle to electric we can confirm it is definitely a lot more involved than you might think. We will hopefully have more information and pricing available for you in the coming months. In the meantime we will continue to upload photos.
